I’m a software engineer in quantitative finance.
What do you do?
I work on quant finance systems, data processing, and reliable infrastructure. In tech, I’ve built the backend for a startup and have been on-call for scaling 1M RPS infra. Built smooth workflows. Learning management, resource allocation.
I do Python & Bash daily; shipped C++, C#; always paying attention to Go, Rust & more.
What do you like to think about?
- 🎲 Probability theory, risk, and not getting wiped out by the tail of the distribution. EV’s not enough. Kelly for the growth-optimal case, fractional Kelly, Taleb and ruin theory for the tail.
- 📈 Trading and finance. Options are beautiful for seeing risk as distributions. I’m also a Quantitative Analysis alumnus at CMF.
- 💭 Epistemics. I love to learn how the world is, what we are, and how to live with that. Less Wrong has exemplars.
What do you do for fun?
- あ Languages, especially sound, pronunciation.
- 😈 Singing. The Zen of Screaming
- 🏞 Hiking. Lovely summer journey by a mountain river, 2 km / 6-7 thousand ft up.
- 👾 Random retro game: Supaplex (1991). Original levels are fire.
What do you care about?
- 🧑🌾 Let’s solve human ageing now. Longer, healthier lives = more time to learn, love, build, explore, and go deeper.
- 🚴♂️ Better towns: walking, cycling, trams, and trains.
- 🕊 Peace and liberty non-negotiable. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
